While the era of the Chinese emperors and Sultans has long been swept away, the beauty of their arms and armour is echoed in the Asian and African Gallery. Offering an exceptional backdrop for large drinks receptions or banqueting events on the fourth floor and set within the heart of the museum, the space provides an added sense of privacy and exclusivity for your guests.

Why choose the Asian and African Gallery?
Enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif in the company of our incredibly rare, full-sized suit of elephant armour, made in 17th century India. Marvel at the stunning Samurai self-defence weaponry and clothing on display, then dine in style in our replica Dojo and sample a perfectly curated feast of flavours from across the globe.
Stirring background music or live sitar performances are optional extras that can enhance your experience in the Asian and African Gallery, before heading to the Pearl Suite for a night of dancing into the early hours, then retiring to a nearby hotel.

It’s a favourite for all kinds of events, from conferences and business lunches to intimate banquets and Christmas parties. The suite’s open, airy layout is ideal for exhibitions, giving guests space to network, browse and connect with speakers or exhibitors throughout the day.

The Tournament Gallery is one of the most impressive gallery displays onsite, giving you the opportunity to step far beyond any other reception or dinner experience. This gallery charts and interprets the development of the three major types of tournament fighting – the tourney, the joust and foot combat.

The Museum’s War Gallery offers a compelling and atmospheric setting for themed evenings, where history comes to life through dramatic interpretations and live-action displays. Located on the second floor, the War Gallery is accessible by a lift or stairs via the Tournament Gallery. A versatile space, the War Gallery benefits from being nestled in the museum to offer your event and guests an extra layer of privacy.
