The Museum’s War Gallery offers a compelling and atmospheric setting for themed evenings, where history comes to life through dramatic interpretations and live-action displays. Located on the second floor, the War Gallery is accessible by a lift or stairs via the Tournament Gallery. A versatile space, the War Gallery benefits from being nestled in the museum to offer your event and guests an extra layer of privacy.

Why choose the War Gallery?
Enjoy your reception drinks whilst experiencing authentic extracts from the 95th Rifles regiment which formed on the basis of the hit TV series “Sharpe’s Rifles”. In stark contrast, you might choose to hear the story of the Battle of Hastings from a Norman warrior’s point of view. Or, experience the Battle of Agincourt through the eyes of an English archer, recounting what it was like to face the might of the French on the battlefield.
Your sumptuous gala dinner can be specifically designed by our Head Chef using the finest local produce. Round off your evening with a selection of fine wines and vintage ports, perfectly paired with exquisite cheeses to delight the palate. Then, continue the celebration in the Pearl Suite, where you can dance the night away to your chosen entertainment and a DJ complete with lighting effects.

While the era of the Chinese emperors and Sultans has long been swept away, the beauty of their arms and armour is echoed in the Asian and African Gallery. The Tournament Gallery is one of the most impressive gallery displays onsite, giving you the opportunity to step far beyond any other reception or dinner experience. This gallery charts and interprets the development of the three major types of tournament fighting – the tourney, the joust and foot combat.

With comfortable fixed seating and a theatre-style layout, this intimate space is ideal for presentations, film screenings and audio-visual displays for 60 to 90 guests. Being fully self-contained, this space offers plenty of privacy, making it a great choice for focused events.

Located on the first floor of the museum, the Pearl Suite is a light-filled space with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame beautiful views of Leeds Dock. It’s a favourite for all kinds of events, from conferences and business lunches to intimate banquets and Christmas parties. The suite’s open, airy layout is ideal for exhibitions, giving guests space to network, browse and connect with speakers or exhibitors throughout the day.
